Ogham Faith Cross Pendant

Our exclusive Ogham Faith Cross is a testament to the Celtic spirit. On the front the cross depicts the traditional Ogham script that reads “faith”. On the reverse side it says the word “faith”.  

Ogham script is the earliest form of Irish writing. The Ogham characters are a series of lines and notches scored a long a stem line. Ogham script is found often on ancient standing stones. The inscription is usually read from the bottom up, and it usually names a person being honored along with their ancestors. Celtic legend says that Ogham was created by Oghma, the son of An Daghda. Ogma was a warrior and the god of eloquence and literature. He fought the second battle of Magh Tuireadh where he slew the Formi, Indech, son to The Goddess Domnu.
