Sterling Silver Connemara Marble St Brigids Cross Pendant
Our Sterling Silver Connemara Marble St Brigids Cross Pendant is a wonderful piece of Irish heritage. St Brigid is Ireland's female patron saint. On the first day of Spring, 1st February, we commemorate her birthday. Because the cross was initially built of rushes and reeds, it has an unusual form. It was believed that hanging it over the entrance would protect the dwelling from fire and bad spirits. The magnificent green Connemara Marble stone is set into this striking sterling silver crucifix. This remarkable stone can only be found on Ireland's west coast. The marble has a number of characteristics, including the ability to withstand wear and discoloration. Each piece of marble has a distinct shade of green, ranging from a dark sage to a light green.
